Alex has been working with children and families for almost 20 years. He began his career working in a residential treatment facility. He has worked with children and families in a variety of settings and capacities. During his career he has worked in juvenile justice centers, child welfare agencies, child protection agencies, youth mentoring programs, group settings with youth, bereavement groups, therapeutic foster care, mental health clinics, in-patient psychiatric, day treatment, home-based therapy, school-based mental health, ESE and general education school settings, adoption/foster care agencies, out-patient mental health.
Alex is a licensed clinical social worker (FL), a certified school social worker (FL), a qualified supervisor for licensed marriage and family therapy registered clinical interns, a qualified supervisor for those seeking licensure in clinical social work, a certified adoption competent trainer, and a board certified behavior analyst. Alex is trained and/or certified in ABA, PCIT, BMT, PMT, TF-CBT, CBT among others as well as in some forms of family therapy. He supervises our LCSW, LMFT, LMHC associate therapists, as well as registered-clinical interns (LCSW and LMFT only) pursuing licensure.
Alex has extensive training working with adoptive families, children with PTSD, attachment problems/disorders, children with social engagement problems/disorders, school problems, and children/families affected by various forms of anxiety and depression. Alex has served as a presenter, trainer, lecturer and courtesy professor at several local agencies and educational institutions. Alex is a member of the Association for the Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children (ATTACh). He is listed in several organizations, including Families by Design (Attachment.org). Alex has earned several award and recognitions in his career. Notably, he was named the school social worker of the year by the Florida Association of School Social Workers in 2009.
Supervising BCBA Consultant for Behavior Services - Marilee Hayman CSP, MS, BCBA
Marilee has 20 plus years experience as both a school psychologist and behavior analyst. She has worked in the school setting, clinics, homes/communities and earlier in her career she worked in in-patient psychiatric facilities. Marilee is certified as being "Adoption Competent" and she is trained on trauma-informed care. She is a qualified supervisor, registered with the Behavior Analysis Certfication Board. She is certified in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent Management Training (PMT) and Behavior Management Therapy (BMT). She has also been trained in areas of Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) and a wide array of educational and academic testing.
